An engagement session is the rehearsal for your wedding photos — and a chance to get portraits that look nothing like everyone else's. Lisbon gives you azulejo walls, pastel façades, steep lanes that make every walking shot look cinematic and viewpoints over red roofs down to the river. It also gives you a real memory: photos from a trip you took together, just before the wedding.
We shoot with the end use in mind. If you know you want a landscape image with space for text on your save-the-date, or a vertical image for the top of your wedding website, tell us and we will make sure you get it at more than one location.

Planning your engagement session
Timing in your trip
Book the session for your second or third day in Lisbon. You will have recovered from the flight, found your bearings and — importantly — you will have a spare day for a reschedule if the weather turns.
Two outfits, one session
For 90-minute sessions we plan a change halfway: something relaxed for the lanes, something dressier for a viewpoint or the riverside. We will point you to a café or hotel lobby where you can change without fuss.
Rings and details
Bring the ring clean, and anything meaningful you would like included — a letter, a bouquet, a vintage camera, your dog. Details photographed in Lisbon's light make lovely extras for save-the-dates and the wedding day slideshow.

Frequently asked questions
How far ahead should we book an engagement session?
Four to eight weeks ahead is ideal in spring and autumn, which are the busiest months. In winter a week or two is often enough.
Can we use the photos for save-the-dates and printing?
Yes. You receive high-resolution files with a personal-use licence that covers invitations, wedding websites, prints and social media.
What if we want a more editorial, fashion-style session?
Tell us and share a few reference images. We will choose stronger locations such as Chiado and São Pedro de Alcântara and direct you more closely.
How many outfit changes can we do?
One change in a 90-minute session is comfortable. Two is possible if the locations are close together.
Can the session be in Sintra or on the coast?
Yes. Sintra sessions start at €450 and Cascais at €300, both with photographer travel included.
